MIAMI –  In Liberty City, Miami, an officer said that a violent gang was running its business out of a public park close to schools, sports fields, and the commissioner’s office.

A search was done after a girl told police that two men in jackets pointed guns at her on April 27 at 1350 NW 50 St.’s Charles Hadley Park.

There was a foot chase after a fake police officer said Leondre Walker was a suspect. Walker reached into his waistband, pulled out a Taurus G2C with an extended magazine, and threw it.

Police say that the Taurus G2C had a live round in the chamber and 21 live shots in the extended magazine. The 20-year-old Walker had been in trouble with the police before.

The undercover cop said Walker was a “documented” part of a gang. He was in the news last year when he crashed his stolen Jeep during a chase in Broward County on August 31. The case was dropped in the end.

When Miami cops arrested Walker on April 27, they said they took his iPhone to search it after getting a warrant.

Detectives found out that Walker had a “MIAHWAY” tattoo on his arm and an iPhone background picture of himself holding a gun while he was sad about Jeremiah Rollers’ death. It said “M4M,” which stands for “Murder 4 Miah.”

Lawyers for the state of Miami-Dade charged Walker with having a gun while being a criminal, hiding a gun, and fighting an officer without hurting him.

Walker was given probation for 12 months by Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Milton Hirsch on June 11. The Florida Department of Corrections said it would not happen after June 10, 2025.

Detectives said they found a message on Walker’s phone with the stolen ID information of a man in Nevada and another message with the stolen ID information of a man in Miami Gardens.

Inmate records for Miami-Dade County show that Walker was booked at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center just after 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday.

There were four counts of illegal ownership of four or fewer IDs, one count of unlawful use of a communications divide, and two counts of fraudulent use or possession of a personal ID. Walker was arrested.

Detectives from the gang intelligence unit in Miami and Jennifer Hernandez-Garcia, who is an assistant state attorney in Miami-Dade County and is part of the gang strike force, worked together on the case.

Walker’s bond review was set for Thursday at 9:30 a.m., and his trial was set for September 3 at 9 a.m. The case was going to be heard by Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Zachary N. James.
