Police in New Jersey say a mother killed her two young children in a bathtub and has been charged with murder.

There are many charges against 27-year-old Naomi Elkins, including murder and having a weapon. Police say Elkins drowned her two girls, who were three and one years old, on Tuesday. The baby was also hurt with stab wounds.

NBC Philadelphia reports that on Tuesday evening, police were called to Elkins’ home in Lakewood, which is an hour south of Newark because one of her two children was having a cardiac attack.

The kids were trapped and firefighters tried to save them, but both of them died at the scene.

Ocean County public records show that she is being charged with two counts of murder and two counts of illegally possessing a weapon.

Public records show that Elkins is being held without bail. He is married and has a master’s degree. He is 27 years old. News.com NJ said that her first hearing is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, and then she has a custody hearing on Monday morning.

Early on Wednesday, there were no police at the spot, and the house wasn’t taped off as a crime scene.

Someone told News 12 New Jersey on Tuesday night, “I saw a lot of police cars and ambulances. I saw someone doing CPR in the ambulance.”

As of last week, police in New Haven, Connecticut, said that the father had tried to kill his children in the Long Island Sound.

The kids were saved when a West Haven police officer heard screams while on patrol on Saturday at 2:30 a.m. He found Romney Desronvil in the water with his two kids when he got there. He said that Desronvil told him to stay put.
