Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Carrollton After Collision With Acura on Route 17
A North Carolina man is in the hospital after crashing his motorcycle in Carrollton on Saturday afternoon.
The collision occurred around 12:24 p.m., according to Virginia State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya. It occurred on Route 17/Carrollton Boulevard near Omera Drive in the Isle of Wight County.
According to Anaya, the biker, Zachary T. Ross of Flat Rock, N.C., was heading northbound on Route 17 when an Acura MDX drove out of Omera Drive and into his path. Susan G. Herrin, an Acura driver from Suffolk, was charged with failing to give the right of way.
Ross was sent to Riverside Regional Medical Center after suffering significant life-threatening injuries.
