MPD Woman Assaults Girlfriend with Pistol and Threatens Pregnant Woman
Memphis, Tennessee — A woman was arrested over the weekend after Memphis Police said she pistol-whipped her partner and threatened to shoot a pregnant mother and a teenager.
On Saturday, at about 1:40 a.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2000 block of Ketchum Road.
A female victim informed police that her girlfriend, Tanaka McGee, started beating her in the face after she refused to show her her phone.
A witness claimed she went to the victim’s residence after hearing them argue. She informed investigators that she observed McGee aiming a pink and gray revolver at the victim.
According to the witness, when she tried to intervene to break up the fight, McGee threatened to shoot her and her pregnant kid.
McGee allegedly threatened to shoot the victim’s 14-year-old son.
When the woman attempted to flee, McGee reportedly pistol-whipped her. Officers noted that she had a swollen face and lacerations on the back of her head.
Officers found a pink and silver 9mm handgun on the scene.
When McGee was detained, she stated that she had “consumed a lot of alcohol”. According to the police report, she “appeared to be very incoherent.”
McGee is charged with three charges of aggravated assault, domestic violence, and breaking bail conditions.
