Neighbors Say the Suspect in the Stabbing Spree Lost It After Yelling at a Roommate
The man from Martha’s Vineyard who is accused of stabbing six people in Massachusetts over the weekend was apparently in a heated argument with neighbors the night before, which ended with him throwing a shovel through their window.
The 26-year-old Jared Ravizza went to court on Tuesday morning to face charges of assault with intent to murder and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous tool. Ravizza is accused of going on a random killing spree on Saturday night, during which he allegedly stabbed four girls in a movie theater and then attacked two workers at McDonald’s.
A woman saw him peeing in the McDonald’s drive-thru and told police that he looked like Jack Nicholson in The Shining, the court heard. Later that night, he was arrested after they say he led police on a chase that finished with him wrecking his Porsche.
Ravizza was told to get a mental health exam after showing up in court without shoes.
He is also now suspected in a murder that happened hours before he is said to have gone on a killing spree. Reports say that Bruce Feldman, 70, was Ravizza’s roommate. He was found dead “with visible injuries” outside of a Deep River home soon after Ravizza left said home.
The New York Post says Ravizza lost it when Feldman’s neighbors in Connecticut called the cops on him for allegedly trespassing on their land. Feldman had been renting a house with Ravizza and staying with him. He was known to walk his dog around the area at times. However, Feldman’s neighbors said he would sit on their porches without permission, which is why the cops were called on Saturday.
Charlie Brashears, a neighbor, told WTNH that when Ravizza found out, he “took a shovel, went down to their house, and threw it at their window.” Another neighbor said the shovel had gone right through the window of the other neighbor.
When police arrived at the scene, they found Feldman’s body inside the rental home.
“This is some of the strangest stuff we’ve seen,” Brashears said. “This sounds a lot like Taxi Driver from the 1970s.”
The Post was told by neighbors that they thought Bruce’s dog had also been found dead inside the house, but the police have not yet confirmed this.
It is said that Ravizza publicly changed his name to Jared Love Jones last month. He has said in the past that he was a model, but on Instagram, where he posts a lot of selfies and pictures that look like his art, he calls himself an artist.
