New Jersey School District Implements Cell Phone Ban for Upcoming School Year

0

Now that Labor Day has passed, many New Jersey families are preparing for the start of the school year.

Back to school was always one of my favorite moments of the year when I was younger; it meant seeing my friends at lunch every day, resuming after-school activities, and, of course, a return to routine, which I enjoy.

This year, however, for some New Jersey youngsters, returning to school may be a little different.

Another New Jersey school district is limiting or prohibiting the use of cell phones by kids during school.

Which NJ school district is imposing a ban or limit on cell phones this year?

It appears to be a trend, as the Cherry Hill school district has changed its cell phone policy to limit how much time children can use them.

According to APP, the Middletown school system has changed its policy, which some believe is overly strict.

What Is Middletown School District’s Cell Phone Policy for 2024?

If your student is in high school, they must turn off their phones and put them away during class and exercise.

Phones are not permitted in the locker room or the bathroom, and can only be turned on and used during lunchtime and between classes.

If your student is in primary school, it’s much more strict; children’s phones must be turned off from the time they arrive at school to the time they leave, with no exceptions during lunchtime or between classes.

I am a big fan of these types of regulations.

I grew up going to school without a cell phone and did OK; phones can be a tremendous distraction for students and a source of annoyance for teachers, so having some limits in place might be highly beneficial.

Jersey schools are well-rated, which may explain why so many individuals are coming here from other states.
