FLUSHING, Queens – The NYPD says that new pictures of a suspect were released in the rape of a 13-year-old girl in a Queens park last week.

On Monday, the NYPD shared surveillance photos and video that showed the suspect riding a bike down a sidewalk.

Fourteen-year-olds were raped in Kissena Park in Flushing on Thursday, according to the police. The suspect is said to have threatened them with a knife that looked like a machete and tied their hands together with shoelaces.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny says the suspect told the teens to follow him into the woods when he saw them on a field in Kissena Park around 3 p.m., near Colden Street and Kalmia Avenue.

When the kids said no, Kenny told them to “shut up.”

He then pulled out a big knife that looked like a blade and made the boy and girl follow him into the woods. Police said the guy then used a shoelace to tie their wrists together and then raped the girl.

Kendall said the attacker then took their phones and told them to wait in the area for 20 minutes before leaving.

The victims were classmates who went to the park after school to play soccer. They came back to school to tell what happened. Police say that within minutes, a lot of agents rushed to the scene and found the shoelace and the suspect’s water bottle. On Friday, the NYPD’s Crime Scene Unit kept looking in the park.

“A shoelace was found that could have been used to tie the kids’ hands together.” That shoelace is being looked at right now as forensic proof. “A water bottle that the criminal left behind is also being looked at,” Kenny said.

NYPD Deputy Commissioner Kaz Daughtry said that police searched the area with two drones and put cameras around the park.

Daughtry said, “We will continue to look for this monster until we catch him.”

Police asked people in the area to check their home security systems while they looked through store security cameras in the area. If you can help the NYPD, they will pay you up to $10,000.

The man was in his 20s, short, had curly hair, and had braces on his teeth. He also had a tattoo on his chest of a bull or pig with red eyes. He wore red boots and a green backpack the last time he was seen.
