SANFORD, Fla. – A news release says that police are looking for a guy from Orlando who has been named as a suspect in a shooting in Sanford on Sunday morning that sent two people to the hospital.

A spokesman for the Sanford Police Department said that officers were called to Barewood Lane around 7:30 a.m. because of a report of a shooting.

According to the report, the two people were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for what looked like gunshot wounds.

Based on their research, police said that the person they believe shot the person was 51-year-old Santana Sutton from Orlando.

As the news release says, Sutton got to his girlfriend’s place “early in the morning,” but there was already a fight going on outside.

Police say shots were fired before Sutton ran away.

Sanford police say Sutton has an open arrest warrant from a different incident that has nothing to do with this one.

Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith said, “We want people in our community to come forward if they know where Sutton is.” “We need to get this violent person off the streets right away.” He only meant no harm when he went to that flat this morning. He needs to be found and made to answer for what he did.

Please call the Sanford Police Department or Crimeline at 800 423-TIPS (8477) or go to Crimeline if you know anything about this crime or where Sutton is. People who call Crimeline can do so anonymously, and tips that lead to the solving of criminal cases could earn the caller up to $1,000 in cash, police said.
