LOOKING Ahead: A high-pressure system moving in from the north is predicted to dominate Thursday through Saturday, clearing clouds and reducing the likelihood of rain. Winds are also expected to subside.

Light wind shear, high ocean temperatures, and enhanced moisture are all forecast, making conditions suitable for tropical development. A system could emerge around Election Day, November 8.
Tropical systems in the Caribbean during November typically migrate northeast, rarely making landfall in the United States. The next name on this year’s storm list is Patty.
According to tropical weather records dating back to the mid-nineteenth century, just three hurricanes have made landfall in Florida in November. While it is feasible, as demonstrated by Hurricane Nicole in 2022, such events are exceedingly unusual, occurring only three times in nearly 175 years.
