Pennsylvania Man Accused of Stabbing Girlfriend to Death After She Changed Her Hairstyle
A Pennsylvania man is accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death because he disliked her haircut.
Benjamin Garcia Gual, 49, allegedly stabbed Carmen Martinez-Silva, 50, with a kitchen knife at her brother’s mobile home over her new hairdo.
On November 3, police responded to a report on Dell Lane in East Hempfield Township, Pennsylvania, at approximately 1:40 p.m. A criminal complaint alleges that Martinez-Silva was “scared” of Gual and chose to stay with her daughter, Yamaris.
“Yamaris stated that Carmen cut her hair, which enraged Benjamin,” the complaint reads. “Carmen relayed to Yamaris that Benjamin told her that he was going to stab her over her haircut.”
Gual is facing numerous accusations, including homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment.
Martinez-Silva allegedly went to her brother’s house and sought a friend to inform Gual about the end of their relationship because she was afraid to confront him.
Martinez-Silva was found dead in the front yard. According to the affidavit, Gual proceeded to look for her at her brother’s house but departed after the brother lied about Martinez-Silva’s absence.
Gual then returned shortly after, allegedly stabbing the sibling as he opened the door.
Martinez-Silva was allegedly stabbed as she moved to interfere.
Martinez-Silva was dead when police arrived, but her brother had several wounds. Both were transported to the hospital.
Martinez-Silva was pronounced dead at 3:41 p.m., although his brother may have survived.
