Plastic Contamination Prompts Waffle Recall Across Multiple States

0

TOPEKA – Federal health officials say a Utah firm is recalling thousands of waffle boxes because they may contain foreign objects.

On September 13, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an advisory about a voluntary recall of 7,300 boxes of Kodiak Cakes LLC’s “Kodiak Protein-Packed Power Waffles, Buttermilk & Vanilla.” The recall was made because the products contained soft plastic film.

The FDA stated that the business transported these waffles to multiple states. These are Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

The recalled waffles feature the UPC code ‘7 05599 01920 3’ on the package, expire on January 1, 2026, and come in 53.6-oz containers. The recall is classified as “Class II,” which means that the waffles may produce adverse health effects in people who come into touch with them.
