Police in Connecticut have accused a guidance counselor at a middle school of sexually abusing a minor by giving the child “lap dances” and other intimate activities.

The Norwalk Police Department claimed that Luisa Melchionne, 47, a staff member at Nathan Hale Middle School, was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a minor after her arrest on July 11. It’s unclear right now if she has entered a plea.

An anonymous caller informed police in April that he had found inappropriate communications that Melchionne had reportedly written to a student after borrowing her phone, according to an arrest warrant made public by WFSB.

According to the claimed warrant, the caller later supplied police pictures of purported text messages between Melchionne and the student that included sexual photos and financial transactions.

When the child’s identification was ascertained, the warrant claimed that Melchionne gave the youngster pictures of himself in the nude and asked for them back. She would pay him money for food and Uber rides, the boy further disclosed to the authorities.

When he started talking to the guidance counselor in 2023, the youngster was in the seventh grade. He told detectives that he would meet Melchionne in her office, where she would engage in sexual acts, including giving him “lap dances,” according to the warrant.

Mark Sherman, Melchionne’s defense lawyer, revealed to The Hour that his client had left her job at the school. Juvenile court documents show that she was freed on bond.

Sherman informed the publication, “These are just accusations.” “It will take some time to investigate this case, but what we do know is that these charges are being brought against a loving wife and mother who has devoted over 20 years to her profession.”

The Hour also revealed that the boy’s age was stated by the prosecutor in court as thirteen.
