Police Say a Veteran Actor Sexually Assaulted Women He Brought in
The Los Angeles Police Department says that an actress is accused of giving at least three women a “false sense of security” and then sexually assaulting them without their permission.
LAPD said that Gabriel Olds, 52, was arrested and booked on Wednesday on seven serious sexual assault charges. The price of his bail is $3.5 million.
Police are asking more people who say Olds hurt them or saw what happened to come forward.
A 41-year-old woman says Olds raped her in her LA home on January 19, 2023. Later, two more adult victims came forward and made similar claims going back to 2013. They said they were on dates that were mutually agreed upon and ended in violent sexual assault, according to police.
Police say that Olds, who graduated from Yale University, has worked as an actor and scriptwriter since the early 1990s. A lot of times, he has been a guest star on hit TV shows like “Criminal Minds,” “Heroes,” “Boardwalk Empire,” and “NCIS: Los Angeles.”
Police say that his victims said he used the fact that he went to an Ivy League school to meet women and set up dates. In the past few years, several women have also said they met him on dating apps.
Police said they have named the three women Olds is accused of assaulting and the two other women who said he sexually harassed them less violently. Investigators think that Old’s trips could have led to more victims across the country.
FBI agent Brent Hopkins said in a statement, “We heard the same story over and over again.” “Mr. Olds was nice at first, but he used terrible violence to rape these women.” Some of these survivors went through terrible things for years before they got the courage to speak out. We want to give everyone a chance to be heard now that he’s off the streets.
