Police Say the Body of a Man Who Called 911 Before Going Missing Was Found in a Lake 600 Miles Away

An Iowa man’s body was found in an Arkansas lake, almost 600 miles away from where he was last seen in January.

An Aug. 6 news statement from the Winterset Police Department says that on Aug. 4, the Howard County Sheriff’s Office in Arkansas was told that a car had been found submerged in Gillham Lake.

Police say they found the body of 25-year-old Joshua Graham-Caskey inside a Ford Taurus with the help of a dive team.

Police said Graham-Caskey was reported missing on January 18 after he called 911 to the Iowa sheriff’s office.

License plate readers, financial transactions, and business security footage helped police in Iowa prove that he went south through Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

Police say the last place they saw him was at a gas station in Mena, Arkansas, on January 19.

The police say that Graham-Caskey’s car was found about 30 minutes south of Mena.

From what the sheriff’s office can tell, there is no sign of foul play.

Winterset, Iowa is 590 miles away from Gillham Lake, which is in the south.

Someone called for help to find Joshua Graham-Caskey, and now there are 4,400 people in a Facebook group called “Help find Joshua Graham-Caskey.”

A true-crime show called “The Vanished” also did an episode about him.
