Enetai, Washington — On Sunday, a magnitude 3.0 earthquake struck just east of Enetai, shaking the community. The tremor occurred at a depth of 27 km. Residents in the region are advised to report any shaking they experience.

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred at 7:49 a.m. PDT. Though the earthquake is tiny, folks near the epicenter can feel it. Many individuals in adjacent communities, including Seattle and Bremerton, may have noticed the mild tremor.

Officials urge people who felt the earthquake to submit their experiences on the USGS’s “Did You Feel It?” website. These reports aid scientists in better understanding local earthquake activity. By Sunday afternoon, the USGS had received 144 answers from residents.

Little earthquakes might heighten awareness of potential future seismic activity even if no damage has been observed. Emergency preparedness remains crucial in the Pacific Northwest, where greater earthquakes are a known hazard.
