Retirement Benefits Payment Dates in October – Are You Eligible for Your Check?
Millions of pensioners have received payments from the Social Security Administration today. However, not all beneficiaries of retirement benefit payments are eligible for the same payday.
If you began receiving monthly payments before May 1997, you should expect to receive a Social Security check or direct transfer on October 3. You may also receive money from the Agency if you receive both Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and retirement benefits.
Retirees Will Receive Their Next Social Security Check in October
There are three rounds of Wednesday payments remaining in October. You can only get one of them. You are ineligible for the October 3 payment if you want to receive money from any of these.
That means you began collecting Social Security after April 30, 1997, and you are not receiving Supplemental Security Income payments either. The distinguishing attribute is that you were born on a specific day.
The SSA states that the October 9 payment will only be made to retirees whose birthdays fall between the 1st and 10th of any month. If your birthday falls after that date, you will have two extra options.
Social Security checks after October 9
If your birthday falls between the 11th and the 20th of any given month, you will receive your retirement benefit payment on October 16. So it will be due on the third Wednesday of October.
The last Social Security payment for October will be given on the fourth Wednesday of the month. As you may expect, you must also meet the birthdate requirement.
Retirees born between the 21st and 31st will receive their monthly payment on October 23. If you received the payment on October 3, you will not receive the following check or direct transfer on November 3. It will be sent ahead of schedule on November 1, according to Social Security.
