Robb School Shooting Criminal Inquiry to Be Reviewed by Uvalde County Grand Jury!
CNS News–In a significant development following the tragic Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, Texas, a grand jury has been empaneled to scrutinize the law enforcement response. This initiative, confirmed by ABC News and initially reported by the Uvalde Leader-News, arises in the wake of a Department of Justice report labeling the incident as an “unimaginable horror” marked by “cascading failures” in tactics, communication, and preparedness.
The shooting, which occurred on May 24, 2022, saw the heartbreaking loss of 19 children and two teachers. The law enforcement’s handling of the situation, particularly their 77-minute delay in breaching the classrooms besieged by an 18-year-old gunman, has been the subject of intense scrutiny and criticism. District Attorney Christina Mitchell of the 38th Judicial District spearheads a criminal probe into this response.
This probe involves a thorough analysis of evidence from the day of the incident, which witnessed the response of 376 officers from 23 departments. The grand jury, consisting of twelve members and expected to dedicate at least six months to this case, will make critical decisions on potential criminal charges against the involved officers.
