San Leandro Woman Arrested After Ex-Boyfriend Fatally Shot in Domestic Dispute
The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that a woman was arrested after a shooting in San Leandro during a domestic argument. Her ex-boyfriend was killed and she was hurt.
Analleli Garcia Mejia, 36, was named as the suspect in the shooting on August 22 that the Sheriff’s Office said may have been planned ahead of time.
Mejia had been shot in the leg when deputies went to a house in the 16000 block of Carolyn Street, and they found 43-year-old David Ramirez who had been shot in the chest.
Mejia was taken to the hospital, but Ramirez died at the scene of the crime. The Sheriff’s Office said it looked like the shooting was connected to a fight between family members.
The Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post that detectives found information and video proof that Garcia Mejia may have planned what he did.
She was booked into the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin on Thursday after being nabbed. It was said by the Sheriff’s Office that the case would be brought to court for charging after the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office looked over the proof.
