School Bus Carrying 38 Students Involved in Multi-vehicle Crash in Carteret County; 1 Student Hospitalized
Authorities are responding to a multi-vehicle incident in Carteret County involving a school bus.
According to officials from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on NC 24 near 9 Mile Rd., near Franks Pizza.
Carteret County Schools has issued the following statement:
“At around 3 p.m. today, a bus carrying 38 Broad Creek Middle School kids was stopped on Highway 24 when it was struck by another vehicle. One student was sent to the hospital, while several others were treated on the spot by EMS for minor injuries.
There are currently no details available regarding the condition of the vehicle’s driver or the other vehicles involved in the accident. CCPS gratefully acknowledges the prompt response of local police and rescue.”
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
