SAN FRANCISCO — They stated that on Sunday, a body was found in Golden Gate Park, close to where the Outside Lands Music Festival was held. At 1:05 p.m., someone called the police to say that a man had been found in a porta-potty next to the handball fields on Nancy Pelosi Drive.
SFFD says that the door to the portable bathroom was locked and that first officers had to use force to open it. Crews arrived and found a man who wasn’t breathing. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
The porta-potty is about 20 minutes’ walk east of the event grounds’ easternmost point.
People from all over the world came to Outside Lands over three days, from Friday, August 9 to Sunday, August 11. No one knows if the man was there. At this point, no one knows what killed the man who has not been named.
A body has been found in Golden Gate Park near Outside Lands on the third and last day of the music event for the second year in a row.
A woman’s body was found in a duffle bag near Stow Lake last year. A 37-year-old woman from San Francisco was found dead in November 2023. The San Francisco Police Department said that two people were caught in connection with the death.
The incident was also reported by the SFPD on Sunday afternoon. Police did not say anything about what happened that led to the death.
