CNS News–In a disturbing incident captured by police body cameras, two members of the New York City Police Department (NYPD) were viciously attacked in Times Square by a group of individuals. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced the indictment of seven individuals involved in the assault, shedding light on the harrowing events of January 27th.
The altercation began when officers approached a group of asylum seekers blocking a sidewalk on West 42nd Street. Despite verbal instructions to disperse, 24-year-old Yohenry Brito resisted compliance, escalating tensions that culminated in a coordinated assault on the officers.
Bragg condemned the violence, emphasizing the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their actions. Through meticulous investigation, authorities identified and charged those directly involved in the attack, ensuring justice for the victims and upholding the rule of law.
Among the indicted individuals, Brito faces charges of second-degree assault and is currently held on bail. Others implicated in the assault include Darwin Andres Gomez-Izquiel, Yorman Reveron, and Kelvin Servita Arocha, each facing varying degrees of involvement in the attack.
