The payment for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) was sent out in September. The due date for this direct payment was August 30, 2024. So, if you didn’t apply for this benefit last month, now is the time to do so.
Everything that comes from SSI is good because everyone gets their money at the same time. But each payment of Supplemental Security Income may be a different number. Getting the most money will depend on how much money you make and how much money you have available.
When will Social Security pay SSI?
The government has announced that the SSI check or direct payment will be sent out on October 1, 2024. This is not the last payment in 2024; there are still 3 more to go.
Of course, you can get SSI if you are approved, and you still can. If you make extra money, your Supplemental Security Income checks and direct payments may go down or stop.
Dates that Supplemental Security Income will be paid in the future in 2024:
- S.S.I. will get paid on October 1, 2024.
- SSI payment on November 1, 2024, for everyone who gets it.
- Extra help from Social Security in the form of a check or direct payment for December on November 29, 2024.
- The SSI payment for January 1, 2025, which was due on December 31, 2025, includes the 2025 COLA raise.

Extra assurance of safety People who receive income but don’t qualify for other benefits, like retirement or SSDI, and who don’t have any money on hand or wages may be able to get the most help.
In 2024, for example, a person can get up to $943 from this Federal scheme. It doesn’t matter what month it is; that’s the most that can be paid this year. They can get up to $1,415 if they are married and both qualified.
People who are needed can get up to $472. People who get the COLA boost won’t be able to get it until December 31. Aside from having little or no means and a low income, people who get Supplemental Security Income must also:
being blind or having a handicap or being at least 65 years old
