SSI Payments to Rise in 2025: Early Payment Scheduled for December 31, 2024

0

SSI is Supplemental Security Income, and eligible recipients normally get money from the federal government on November 1st. The SSA has confirmed it, and the next payment is scheduled for November 1, 2024.

If Social Security is unable to schedule the SSI payment on the first due to a weekend or holiday, it is usually issued the prior working day. This will happen very soon.

SSI Payment in December Before the COLA Rise

This month, Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries will receive more checks than just the one on November 1. Please keep in mind that the cheque or direct deposit for December cannot be sent on Sunday, December 1, 2024.

Thus, the Social Security Administration has scheduled the December SSI payout for November 29, 2024. As a result, there will be two separate paydays, and all recipients may be eligible for both because one is for November and the other is for December.

Eligibility for the SSI:

To receive Supplemental Security Income, you must have or be:

  • Low income can lead to limited resources.
  • US citizenship or nationality (some non-citizens may be eligible)
  • Applicants must be blind, disabled, or above the age of 65.

Has the Social Security Administration Scheduled an Ssi Payment for December?

The SSI payment for January will not be sent on January 1 since banks and SSA offices are closed. Because this is a federal holiday, the Agency has fixed the January 1 payment for December 31, 2024.

As a result, SSI recipients will receive the COLA rise for 2025 in 2024. The COLA can increase the maximum amount for individuals by around 23 dollars, for a total of $276 per year.

Eligible married couples will receive Supplemental Security Income of up to $1,450 on December 31, 2024. That is a 35-dollar increase per month. These grantees stand to receive an additional $420 over the course of a year. So, the COLA will benefit low-income Americans.
