Stephen Green Convicted of Murder in Fatal Prison Riot Trial
Stephen Green has been found guilty of killing Cornelius McClary, 35, during the deadly riot at Lee Correctional Prison in 2018.
After four days of evidence, Green was found guilty of murder, second-degree assault by a mob, criminal conspiracy, and having a gun while in prison.
Green was seen on several camera videos by people who saw what happened and said he played a big part in what happened.
The prosecutor brought up his shoes, saying that they were not common for prisoners at the South Carolina Department of Corrections.
This information helped identify Green because he showed up in several video clips taken during the riot’s chaos.
During the riots, seven prisoners were killed and many more were hurt.
