Stratford Home Invasion Suspects Apprehended Following Similar Attacks in New York and New Jersey
STRATFORD, CONN.— Stratford police detained two individuals in house invasions linked to similar occurrences in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey.
Ryeim Robinson, 18, of Newark, New Jersey, and an unidentified kid are in police custody after being involved in a home invasion in Stratford, according to the town’s police department.
On July 15, Stratford police responded to a report of a house invasion in the town’s Lordship neighborhood. Police said multiple suspects entered an occupied property early in the morning and stole a vehicle and “other valuables.”
Police say the culprits also took registration plates from other vehicles in the vicinity.
A police investigation that included state and local officials from Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York identified Robinson as the primary suspect in the Lordship incident.
Robinson is also a suspect in similar instances in Fairfield County, New York, and New Jersey, where he and other unnamed suspects took an estimated $200,000 in automobiles and valuables since July.
On September 19, New Jersey State Police discovered Robinson carrying a gun in Irvington, New Jersey, and arrested him following a vehicle pursuit.
Robinson will face gun and other charges in New Jersey. Police said the NJSP is keeping him as a fugitive from justice until he is extradited to Connecticut to face state charges.
The kid involved in the Lordship incident was arrested on August 22 by the New York City Police Department while committing another home invasion in Brooklyn, New York, according to police.
The child is currently in Connecticut, facing charges in the Lordship home invasion.
Police in Stratford say they expect to charge other persons in connection with the event.
