MILL VALLEY— A man from Mill Valley was arrested Thursday on suspicion of multiple weapons crimes after agents from another county told the sheriff’s office about him.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office says that the Roseville Police Department in Placer County carried out a four-day sting operation to catch people who are abusing children on the internet.

After the operation, an officer from Roseville called the Marin Sheriff’s Office to talk about a suspect who lived in a part of Mill Valley that wasn’t part of the city.

Detectives in Roseville asked for help making sure the suspect lived at the house they thought he did and serving the arrest warrant.

He was caught on his way to work on Thursday morning, according to the sheriff’s office. Officers are said to have found 11 unregistered guns and several hundred rounds of ammo when they searched the suspect’s home and car.

The suspect can’t have any guns or ammo because he or she is a convicted felon.

Law officials said that one of the guns they found was an un-serialized AR-15 that was made from an 80% lower receiver.

This 37-year-old man was taken to the Marin County jail on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a gun and ammo, as well as of having an assault weapon that wasn’t registered and a gun that wasn’t serialized.

The suspect was also held on suspicion of doing sexy and inappropriate things with a child under 14; setting up a sex date with a minor; and sending sexually explicit material to a minor.

The Roseville warrant’s bail amount is $500,000. Marin County added an extra $50,000 to the bail amount.
