Tennessee Man Charged with Threatening to Assassinate Biden, Harris, and Obama in Online Posts
A 37-year-old Memphis man has been charged with making threats against President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Barack Obama, the Justice Department announced on Friday.
Kyl Alton Hall, 37, allegedly made many posts on X last month threatening to shoot, kill, and assassinate Biden, as well as wreck his plane and assassinate Harris and Obama.
Hall was indicted by a federal grand jury on Tuesday, charged with two charges of threatening a serving president and vice president, as well as one count of threatening a former president. The Southaven Police Department arrested and booked him in Mississippi on July 30.
If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison on each count.
Earlier this week, an Arizona man who allegedly threatened to kill former President Trump was apprehended following a manhunt as the Republican presidential nominee arrived in the state for a southern border event on Thursday.
Last month, a 20-year-old shooter attempted to assassinate Trump while he was speaking at an outdoor rally, grazing his ear. The shooter was slain by police.
Several US Secret Service agents have been placed on leave while the investigation into the botched assassination attempt continues.
