In response to the weather forecasts on November 30th, schools in Texas implemented various safety measures. Crosby Middle School canceled its basketball games and other after-school activities such as Robotics, Calculator Applications, Science, Social Studies, and Soccer Club. However, UIL Mathematics, UIL Chess, and One-Act Play auditions continued as scheduled.
Stewart Elementary School also took the step of canceling its KICK CLUB, and Hitchcock Primary School suspended all UIL Club activities. Despite these disruptions, the schools maintained their regular dismissal times.
Hitchcock High School was in a state of decision-making regarding its basketball game, awaiting further weather updates. Parents and guardians were advised to stay informed by checking local news sources, as well as the school district’s Facebook page and website.
Throughout these changes, the school district’s primary focus was on ensuring the safety of its students. They emphasized the importance of staying safe and keeping abreast of updates through their communication channels.
