Investigators say that two children were among the five people who died in the fire.
It’s hard to deal with any kind of death. “When there are five people and children, it makes it worse,” said Chief Dale Sinclair of the Richland Area Volunteer Fire Department.

He said that some of the firefighters knew the people who lived at the house and that all first responders can get help.
“We are going to have a debriefing tonight.” “A group is coming in to talk to everyone and try to get as much mental health help as possible,” Sinclair said.
One more person in the house made it out of the fire alive and was taken to a nearby hospital.
It was said that the State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office, and the Athens County Coroner’s Office are still looking into what caused the fire.
