The Child Was Found in Indiana After a Home Invasion in Dupage County
Aurora, IL – Two men were arrested in Indiana after taking an 8-year-old child during a home invasion on the east side of Aurora. The child is safe now.
The 2000 block of Cheshire Drive was the scene of a home invasion on Monday night. Aurora Police and Firefighters were called. The Aurora Police Department says that two guys broke into the house, hurt the people who lived there, and took the child. The father, uncle, and grandma of the child were found to be the offenders.
Police reports say that Lisa C. Bearden, 58, was found in North Aurora with guns in her car. She is the grandmother. Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon is what she is being charged with. The men and the child were found in Indiana by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office. Joshua T. Bearden, 30, and Christopher A. Bearden, 35, are being held in jail in Illinois while they wait to be extradited to Illinois on charges of home invasion.
Chief Keith Cross stressed how important it is to keep homes safe, especially for kids, and praised the work of many police departments in making sure the child’s safe return. Cross said, “There is no reason, no matter how close you are to a child, to break into someone else’s home and hurt them.”
