The Utah AG’s Office Worker Who Pulled Down a Teenager’s Skirt Because It Was Too Short in a Popular Video Has Been Fired

A 49-year-old woman in Utah who used to work for the state’s Attorney General’s Office has officially accepted that she did wrong when she was caught on video pulling down a teenage girl’s skirt in a busy restaurant earlier this year because she thought the 19-year-old’s dress was too short. The video of the event became popular on social media and has been seen over 1.2 million times on TikTok.

Salt Lake City ABC station KTVX reported that Ida Ann Lorenzo pleaded not guilty to one count of misdemeanor sexual battery when she went before Fifth District Court Judge Jay T. Winward on Tuesday. In particular, Lorenzo said she touched “the buttocks of another person knowingly and intentionally in a way that she should have known would offend or alarm that person.”

As part of a deal with authorities, Lorenzo’s plea will be “held in abeyance” for one year. This means that the court will not rule that he is guilty. The case against her will be dropped as long as she doesn’t break any rules in the next year, gets a mental health evaluation, and doesn’t talk to the victim.

Lorenzo could face up to 180 days in jail if she doesn’t follow through with the terms of the deal. If she does, the court may accept her guilty plea.
