This Texas Family Shot and Killed Pit Bulls That Attacked and Killed Their Animals. The Owner Said, I Live in Fear for My Life
A woman in Texas is supporting her husband’s choice to shoot and kill three pit bulls that attacked her animals and killed some of them.
Michelle Gomez of Caldwell County told FOX 7 Austin that “enough is enough” because her neighbor’s many pit bull dogs have killed and hurt many animals.
On Friday morning, her neighbor’s pit bulls either climbed over or dug under her fence to attack her pig and grab it by the ears. The pig was lucky to have escaped the attack.
Three chickens and one tiny horse have had bad luck over the past two and a half years. Before the accident on Friday, the animals were killed by her neighbor’s pit bulls.
Fox 7 Austin reported that Gomez is “in fear for [her] life.”
“The police have always given me and told me that you can shoot and kill the dogs.” I don’t like to kill dogs. What I mean is I love pets. “They shouldn’t have to be shot to death,” Gomez said.
The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office has been called more than 45 times in the last 30 months about animal abuse, lost dogs, and animals that are out on the loose.
The dog’s owner had already been given two tickets for having noisy animals, which he or she had paid and gone to court dates for.
“Wait, that’s not enough. “They need to pick up the dogs to fix this,” Gomez said.
The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office said they had, “followed the laws of the State of Texas and has pursued this matter to the fullest extent possible, as the situation stands today between the neighbors in this case, and will continue to follow state law in these kinds of situations to hopefully prevent more deaths of pets and livestock in our County.”
After what she says she and her animals have been through, Gomez is going to sue both her neighbor and Caldwell County.
