Three of the Four Guys Who Got Out of a Louisiana Jail Have Been Caught, but One is Still on the Run
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s office says that one of the Louisiana prisoners who escaped and has been on the run since last weekend has been caught.
The sheriff’s office says that 19-year-old Omarion Hookfin has been found and arrested. The police did not say when or where they caught Hookfin.
As of Friday afternoon, 20-year-old Jamarcus Cyprian was still on the run.
CNN earlier reported that the two were among four people who broke out of the Parish Jail while “having fun in the yard.”
Sheriff Daniel Edwards says that two of the prisoners are thought to have gotten out of the Amite City jail on Saturday afternoon and the other two on Sunday.
They were hiding in a dumpster behind a Dollar General store on Monday. Their names are Avery Guidry (19) and Travon Johnson (21).
Authorities say that all four of the prisoners who got away from the Tangipahoa Parish Jail north of New Orleans were being held on charges of dangerous crimes before they got away.
CNN station WDSU reported that Hookfin, Guidry, and Johnson were waiting for their trials after being charged with a deadly home invasion in 2022 that killed a father and hurt his 12-year-old daughter.
