In Idaho on Thursday, a crash between two crop duster-type airplanes killed one person and sent another to the hospital with injuries that could kill them.

Around 12:30 p.m. local time (2:30 p.m. ET), there was a report of a crash west of Arco-Butte County Airport. The planes “collision in the air and both went down in an area with sage and grass,” the Butte County Sheriff’s Office said.

The sheriff’s office said one pilot was killed and the other was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that could have killed them. As of Friday morning, it’s not clear how the hurt pilots are doing.

The names of the pilots were kept secret until their families were told.

According to the sheriff’s office, the reason for the crash is being looked into. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were told about it and are now looking into it.
