Trans Killer Sentenced for NYC Antiques Dealer Murder, Decapitation of Oklahoma Man in Separate Case
The trans “baby-faced” killer convicted of stabbing to death a New York City antique dealer was sentenced Thursday to 22 years to life in prison, months after serving time for a different, brutal murder in Oklahoma in which the victim was beheaded.
Alex Ray Scott, 28, who began transitioning into a woman while in jail, was previously convicted of killing Kenneth Savinski, 64, in his Upper East Side apartment in January 2020 with a decorative plate and a kitchen knife.
“Alex Ray Scott will serve a significant prison term for the brutal and senseless murder of Kenneth Savinski – a beloved, friendly person and respected churchgoer,” explained Manhattan District Attorney Bragg. “Mr. Savinski’s death not only devastated his friends and family but also shocked his close-knit community.” Although we cannot bring Mr. Savinski back, I hope that the outcome of this case gives his loved ones a feeling of justice in their continued pain.”
Scott, who was also sentenced to 45 years in prison in Oklahoma for a separate dismemberment homicide using a chainsaw, pled guilty to second-degree murder and many counts of unlawful possession in Savinski’s case.
Scott and Savinski met on a dating platform and were spending the night together on Jan. 27, 2020, when they went to Savinski’s apartment, according to the New York Post.
Savinski was discovered with wounds to his head and neck, including a fractured hyoid bone, a cut-throat, and extensive, deep lacerations on his face and forehead. Prosecutors say he was found covered in blood and pronounced dead at the scene.
According to an indictment, Scott grabbed credit cards from Savinski after the killing and claimed he had no memory of the attack.
Scott later stepped into a New York police station and confessed to killing someone in an unrelated incident. He was found with Robin Skocdopole’s credit cards, prompting investigators to search Skocdopole’s home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, when he could not be reached.
Authorities discovered his home devoid of all goods, with pools of blood within. Skocdopole’s bones were discovered in May 2020 on the banks of a creek in Broken Arrow, according to federal authorities.
He was last spotted in August 2019. Scott was renting a room from Skocdopole and informed everyone that the owner had abruptly relocated to Dallas for work, in an attempt to explain the disappearance.
According to the medical examiner’s report, Skocdopole’s dismemberment was carried out using two separate saws. Following his arrest, Scott volunteered to accompany the FBI to the location of Skocdopole’s head, but no other remains were discovered, according to the Justice Department.
