Two Dead in I-71 Collision in Medina County as Troopers Search for Fleeing Vehicle

An incident on Interstate 71 in Westfield Township, Medina County, killed two people on Thursday, according to officials.

The collision occurred around 10:15 p.m. when a Volvo commercial vehicle driving south broke down in the right lane. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Trax moving in the same direction struck the Volvo from behind.

According to the police, the drivers of the Volvo, David Brown, 68, of Cincinnati, and the Chevrolet, Mark McGraw, 73, of West Salem, were both pronounced dead on the site.

According to officials, a third vehicle collided with the Volvo and then left.

State troopers have requested assistance in locating the third car, which is described as a “maroon-colored commercial vehicle with heavy driver and passenger-side damage.”
