Two Guys Died in Separate Accidents Involving Their Own Cars in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — Two men were killed in two different accidents involving a single vehicle in Sacramento County on Saturday night, according to authorities.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) was called to a crash just before 10 p.m. on northbound Stockton Boulevard, north of Florin Road, by Officer Mark Leavitt, spokeswoman for the CHP’s South Sacramento office.
A man in his 59s driving a Toyota Tacoma went off the road and was declared dead at the hospital, Leavitt said. He said that as of Sunday morning, there was no sign that the man was driving while drunk.
After 10:30 p.m., the CHP was called to a different crash on the 65th Street on-ramp to Highway 50 going east, Leavitt said. When police arrived, they said they found a 32-year-old man with serious injuries. The man was later declared dead at the scene.
Leavitt said that early investigations show the man drove a silver BMW car eastbound on Highway 50, west of 65th Street, at an unknown speed. CHP says the car went off the road for no clear reason, hit a freeway sign and guardrail, fell on the on-ramp to 65th Street, and finally came to rest on top of the south-most guardrail.
