Authorities say that a 2-year-old girl died after her father left her in a hot car in Arizona, where it is currently in the triple digits.
The father took his daughter to run some errands on Tuesday afternoon, and when he got home, Marana Police Capt. Tim Brunenkant told ABC News that the father knew he left the 2-year-old in the car.
Brunenkant said that he left the car running and the air conditioning on.

The dad went inside, and when he came back to the car 30 to 60 minutes later, Brunenkant said, it was turned off.
Brunenkant said the dad called 911 because the 2-year-old wasn’t responding. She was taken to the hospital, but cops said she was already dead when they left.
Tuesday was very hot in Marana; it got as hot as 111 degrees. There is a heat advisory in effect for Tucson, which is close to Marana.
The death was described by Brunenkant as “heat-related tragedy.”
At this point, no charges have been brought, but Brunenkant said Wednesday that charges have not been thrown out.
He said that interviews are going on and that cops are looking for surveillance video in the area.
An international group called KidsAndCars.org says that nine kids have died this year in hot cars across the United States.
KidsAndCars.org says that since 1990, at least 1,093 children have died in hot cars. Of those children, 88% were 3 years old or younger.
