Vance Says Democrats Took the Comment About Childless Cat Ladies Out of Context and Made It Into a Big Deal

Democrats “always do that,” Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) said, when they got angry about his words about “childless cat ladies,” they “took them out of context” and made them seem huge.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s running mate has tried to defend his words about 2021 after they caused a stir last week. While on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show at the time, Vance talked about Vice President Kamala Harris and other high-ranking Democrats. He called them “childless cat ladies” who “want to make the rest of the country miserable too.”

In an interview with Fox News’s Trey Gowdy on Sunday night, the Ohio Republican tried to explain what he meant when he said that Democrats like Harris, who is expected to be the Democratic presidential choice, are “anti-child and anti-family.”

“If you look at the full context of what I said, it’s very clear the Democrats have tried to take this thing out of context and blow it out of proportion, which is what they always do, Trey, because they don’t have an agenda to run on themselves,” he said. He then tried to show how Republicans are different from Democrats while saying that the country should be “pro-family.”

It won’t work out for some people, the senator said, “of course, for a whole host of reasons.” These people don’t have children. I think we should pray for those people and feel sorry for them. As a party, I still think that means we should be pro-family in general, and I think that our country has become especially hard for parents because of Kamala Harris’ regulations.

To this, the Harris team said that Trump and Vance wanted to get too involved in people’s lives. “Every time JD speaks, it’s a reminder that a Trump-Vance administration would want to be in every American’s living room, bedroom, and doctor’s office,” Ammar Moussa, a spokesman for Harris for President, wrote.

“It would just be weird if it wasn’t so dangerous — and it’s why the stakes this November are so incredibly high,” he said.

In a similar argument on Friday, Vance told SiriusXM’s Megyn Kelly Show that his comment about “cat ladies” was “sarcastic,” but that what he really meant was “true.” He also accused the Left of being “anti-family.”

Harris has two stepchildren. Second gentleman Douglas Emhoff is their father. Vance and his wife Usha have three kids.

Vance’s words from three years ago have caused a lot of trouble. Jennifer Aniston is one of the famous people who has spoken out against them.

Since Biden dropped his bid for re-election on July 21 and backed his vice president, Republicans have been focusing on Harris. On the other hand, Harris’s campaign has been constantly hitting Vance by calling him “weird.”
