Western Connecticut continues to have breezy and dry conditions during the work week. As we continue to see bad drought conditions and winds gusting near 30 mph, this will increase the region’s fire weather danger.

On Tuesday, expect things to feel like late November. Surface temperatures will be in the low 50s, but will feel more like the 40s. This temperature will drop much lower Tuesday night and Wednesday morning when winds diminish but still have a bite to them.

Western Connecticut is under a fire weather warning. On Tuesday, winds will be breezy to windy, with speeds ranging from 25 to 35 mph and extremely low humidity.

Despite the recent small rainfall that fell in the region from Sunday night to early Monday morning, the vegetation remains dry throughout the area. As a result, flames may easily start and spread tomorrow. According to the most recent drought monitor, the region is currently experiencing moderate drought.
