Wisconsin Driver Loses Control Avoiding Head-on Crash, Passenger Injured in Fork Township Accident
One person was injured and taken to the hospital Thursday after a motorist attempted to escape a head-on collision with another car.
According to a press release from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to 20 Mile Road and 45th Avenue in Fork Township at 12:02 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, to find a 33-year-old male from Wisconsin driving southbound on 20 Mile Road and attempting to avoid a head-on collision with another vehicle that drifted into his lane.
The 33-year-old male lost control of his vehicle, skidded into a ditch, and collided with numerous trees. A 48-year-old passenger from Wisconsin sustained injuries and was transferred to Corewell Health Big Rapids Hospital for treatment.
The 33-year-old was unharmed.
Barryton Community Fire, Fork Township Rescue, Mecosta County EMS, and Meceola Consolidated Central Dispatch all assisted Mecosta County deputies.
