With a Tornado Watch in Effect Until Midnight, the States of Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin Are Bracing Themselves for Severe Weather

Rochester, MN – Until twelve o’clock in the morning Central Daylight Time on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, a tornado watch has been issued for certain areas in the states of Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. This warning applies to areas like Rochester, Austin, and La Crosse, which are located in areas where the conditions are ideal for the development of severe weather phenomena.

According to the United States National Weather Service Twin Cities, the watch warns that there is a risk of a few tornadoes, scattered hail that can be as large as tennis balls, and wind gusts that can reach up to 70 miles per hour. It has been recommended to residents of the impacted areas that they maintain vigilance and get themselves ready for the possibility of severe weather impacts. It is estimated that nearly 1.2 million people are affected by the tornado watch, which encompasses 654 schools and 57 hospitals.
