Witness Alleges Attorney General’s Co-habitation With Prosecutor in Fani Willis Case Amidst Affair Scandal, Casting Doubt on Role in Trump Investigation
Former President Donald Trump has chosen to be present at his New York fraud trial on Thursday. However, the outcome of proceedings in a Georgia courthouse will determine whether DA Fani Willis and her entire office will be disqualified from Trump’s racketeering case in that jurisdiction.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee confirmed on Monday that an evidentiary hearing scheduled for Thursday will proceed.
The judge emphasized that the nature of the relationship between the District Attorney and special prosecutor Nathan Wade will play a crucial role in determining whether she will be disqualified from the case involving Trump and his co-defendants.
‘To highlight, the focal points here revolve around the existence of a relationship, its nature (romantic or non-romantic), the timeline of its formation, and its current status,’ McAfee stated during the court proceedings.
Georgia lawyer Ashleigh Merchant intends to investigate whether there was a potential financial gain for Willis, who had lawyer Nathan Wade as part of her team.

Merchant also asserts that Terrance Bradley, a former law partner of Wade’s, will provide testimony regarding the commencement of the relationship – and even shed light on the locations where the pair would spend their evenings. That could be crucial in determining whether the court deems it as an inappropriate conflict.
The stakes are significant for Willis – who admitted to a ‘personal relationship’ with Wade while strongly criticizing ‘salacious’ allegations in a dramatic filing – as well as for Trump.
If Judge McAfee determines that there is a potential conflict of interest, he has the authority to disqualify Willis and the entire Fulton County DA’s office from the case.
The move may result in a reassignment to a neighboring county, potentially leading to a different perspective on the racketeering conspiracy charges. These charges were obtained by Willis’ office through a grand jury indictment for Trump and 18 codefendants.
Given Trump’s absence from the gallery, Thursday’s hearing is poised to become a lively session where lawyers vigorously debate the relevance of evidence and what should be disregarded.

Merchant, representing Michael Roman, argues that the relationship was inappropriate and weakens the charges against her client in connection with Trump’s attempt to overturn the election in the state. Trump and other individuals involved have agreed to participate in the endeavor.
