Woman Arrested for Allegedly Fatally Stabbing Wife with Samurai Sword
A woman in Southern California has been arrested on suspicion of killing her husband with a samurai sword.
The attack happened on July 18 in the 300 block of S. Huntington Ave. in San Dimas, according to a news statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Video obtained by KTLA shows that when police arrived, they saw a woman walking alone in the street with a sword in her hand. When an officer approached her, she dropped the claimed weapon.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Daniel Vizcarra told reporters that the woman, who was “suffering numerous cuts and lacerations on her body,” led them to a house on the street where they found another woman who was also suffering from lacerations and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
“And as they continued through the residence, an additional female was found in the residence unharmed, who was also transferred to a local hospital due to a medical emergency,” he said.
The victim was named as Chen Chen Fei, 47, and the accused attacker was named as Huang Weichien, 44, who is her wife. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department made the announcement in an update on July 24.
Huang was caught and charged with murder.
“Through their investigation, the police learned that Huang and her wife Fei had a fight at home.” Huang hit Fei with a sword at some point, the report says. “Fei’s mother was also attacked and severely injured; however, was able to gain control of the sword and fled the residence looking for help.”
The department says that Fei’s mother is still in good condition at a nearby hospital after being hurt in the attack.
Trinh Garcia, a resident of San Dimas, told KABC-TV that the women all lived in the same house and usually kept to themselves. The event is still being looked into.
“They were quiet people, they only came out to get the mail, open the garage, take the trash out, other than that, they were quiet people,” she said. “We are shocked, we are stunned.”
