Woman Brutally Attacks Mother With Grits Amidst Pizza Disagreement
A 28-year-old woman has been arrested for assaulting her mother during a heated argument over pizza. The incident involved the woman throwing grits at her mother’s face.
An individual named Jakiela Mobley was taken into custody and is facing charges of battery following an incident that occurred in Marion County on Monday morning, as stated in an arrest affidavit provided by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the affidavit, Mobley explained to deputies that she had been sleeping on the street in Ocala on Sunday night. However, she reached out to her mother and requested to be picked up in order to find a warm place to sleep.
Mobley Throws Grits at Mother’s Face, Attempts to Blame Her in Unusual Assault
The following day, Mobley informed her mother of her plans to prepare a pizza in the oven. In response, her mother kindly offered her some grits or suggested she could opt for another breakfast option.
“She claimed that her daughter had no reason to make a pizza,” the mother stated, as per the affidavit.
Mobley engaged in a heated dispute with her mother, resulting in her resorting to a rather unconventional act of throwing a handful of grits at her mother’s face, as stated in the affidavit.
According to the affidavit, Mobley attempted to shift responsibility onto her mother, claiming that she intentionally struck herself with the grits to create the appearance of being assaulted.
Deputies, however, observed the presence of grits on the side of Mobley’s mother’s face, along with a mark that appeared to be made by a hand in the grits. This evidence supported the mother’s statement.
Mobley, with a history of battery arrests, was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Marion County Jail on a $2,500 bond.
