Impact on Residents: Feeling Unsafe in Suburban Homes

One of the most vocal residents affected by these crimes, Sara Glasser of Ilchester, shared her harrowing experience. Despite locking her doors, the suspect broke in through a basement window, ransacking her home and stealing personal items.

“It’s crazy, it’s violating,” Glasser said. “Honestly, like you move to the suburbs to feel that safety and just quietness, and to think that someone who shouldn’t be there is in your space and touching your things, and with your pets, who you love deeply. It just feels very violating.”

Glasser detailed how the suspect attempted to break the back door using a brick, failed, and then entered through the basement window. Upon returning home, she noticed broken glass and an open window, confirming the burglary had taken place while her dogs were inside.

  • Items stolen include laptops, jewelry, a watch, and a power drill.
  • Glasser’s dogs were unharmed, although one dog initially mistook the intruder for a friend.
  • The neighborhood, described as quiet and safe, has been shaken by these crimes.

Glasser urges the community and law enforcement to bring the suspect to justice and hopes the crime spree will end soon.
