Woman Fatally Stabbed in Long Island Parking Lot, Police Investigate
WEST HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – A lady was fatally stabbed in a parking lot outside a restaurant on Long Island after leaving a family gathering on Sunday, according to authorities.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight outside the La Candela restaurant on 205 Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
The suspect is somehow connected to the victim, and there appears to be an ongoing grudge.
Ana Ruth Espinoza, 51, of Glen Cove, was ambushed in the parking lot and fatally stabbed, authorities said. According to authorities, Espinoza’s husband attempted to stop the attack and was cut on the hand.
Police identified the suspect as Erick Efren Corado Gonzalez, a 27-year-old Glen Cove resident.
Gonzalez was arrested Sunday in Linden, New Jersey. The charges against him are still ongoing.
