Woman Who Ran Away From the Scene of an Accident in San Jose Was Found Dead at Her Home Two Days Later
Police in San Jose say that two days after she was reported missing after leaving the scene of an accident in June, she was found dead at her home. On June 15, SJPD officers were called to the area of 2100 Oakland Road to investigate a report of a single-car accident.
Police say that a gray 2012 Hyundai SUV was driving on Oakland Road when it hit a tree in the middle of the road. People who were there saw the woman driving the SUV leave the scene of the accident.
Officers went to the home of the registered owner of the SUV but couldn’t find her. Two days later, on June 17, at 9:51 p.m., SJPD officers were called to the same home to reports of a death.
Family members found the dead body of the woman who owned the SUV inside the house. At that time, police said they were looking into the death to see if the crash had anything to do with it.
The SJPD Traffic Investigation Unit was told by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office on Monday that the crash was a major cause of death. This was the 31st road death and crash in San Jose this year.
The name of the victim will be made public by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office.
