YouTuber’s Highway Test Reveals CyberTruck’s Range is Less than Advertised During the Texas Winter!
CheapNailsalonsnearme–In a revealing experiment conducted by a popular YouTuber, Tesla’s much-anticipated Cybertruck demonstrated a significant shortfall in its advertised range. The test carried out under real-world conditions, found that the Cybertruck achieved only around 79% of the range Tesla claimed, raising questions about its performance in everyday use.
Kyle Conner, a reviewer for Out of Spec Reviews, embarked on a meticulous range test of the Tesla Cybertruck, one of the first of its kind since the vehicle’s initial deliveries. Conducted in Texas, the test aimed to evaluate the electric truck’s performance under typical highway conditions.
Conner drove the all-wheel-drive version of the Cybertruck, equipped with all-terrain tires, at an average speed of around 70 miles per hour in temperatures hovering around 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Starting with a full battery, the Cybertruck was driven until it completely ran out of charge.
Toward the end of the test, Conner drove the vehicle in loops around a mall parking lot until it stopped moving. Contrary to Tesla’s claim of a 320-mile range for this model, the Cybertruck only managed to cover 254 miles before depleting its battery. The results are significant as they contrast sharply with Tesla’s advertised figures.

Ahead of the test, Conner had estimated that the truck would likely achieve a range closer to 306 miles. This discrepancy highlights the impact of real-world conditions on electric vehicle performance. Factors such as tire type, vehicle load, and ambient temperature are known to influence the efficiency and range of electric vehicles significantly.
A study by Recurrent Auto, cited by Bloomberg, noted a substantial reduction in range for electric vehicles in cold weather, with some models losing about 30% of their range at temperatures below freezing. Tesla’s Cybertruck has been a subject of much anticipation and speculation since its announcement by CEO Elon Musk in 2019. Originally, Musk had touted a range of up to 500 miles for the higher-end models of the truck.
However, recent updates from Tesla have adjusted these figures, with the base model now starting at $60,990 with an estimated range of 250 miles, and higher-end models offering ranges of 320 and 340 miles at higher price points. The test conducted by Out of Spec Reviews is likely the first of many independent assessments of the Cybertruck’s performance.
