Atlanta & Company had an hour-long deal for Georgia ThanksGiving Day on Tuesday, November 28, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Nine area nonprofits, such as the Salvation Army, The UNCF, Atlanta Union Mission, and more, were on that day’s show. Kaven Beavor, the executive director of the Georgia Center for Nonprofits and the person in charge of Georgia Gives Day on Giving Tuesday (the Tuesday after Black Friday and Cyber Monday), was also there.

“Through #GAgivesThanks and GAgives on GivingTuesday, we’re encouraging Georgians to showcase the importance of nonprofits and demonstrate just how much we appreciate the difference they make in our lives,” Beavor said in a press release.

Also, on Tuesday’s 11Alive News at 4pm, 11Alive and the TEGNA Foundation gave grants to nine Atlanta-area groups that deserved them.
